July 29 - 7PM - Round Midnight with Maxine Gordon   Legendary jazz tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon was nominated for an Oscar for his starring role as an aging American jazzman fleeing his demons in 1950’s Paris in this atmospheric French-American film. Recreating the Blue Note nightclub, the film features a ‘who’s who’ of jazz greats including Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter Ron Carter and Herbie Hancock, who won the Oscar, BAFTA and Cesar for his evocative score. Maxine Gordon, widow of Dexter Gordon will speak about his life and his role in ‘Round Midnight, followed by a Q&A. Admission $10. 
July 27 - 7PM - Miles Davis Tribute Concert Legendary drummer Jimmy Cobb will headline a tribute concert celebrating Miles Davis’ enduring jazz legacy and the iconic 1959’s quadruple-platinum album ‘Kind of Blue,’ which Rolling Stone Magazine called: “one of the most important, influential and popular albums in jazz.” Cobb has assembled a group of great jazz musicians for a once-in-a-lifetime evening of Miles Davis music.
June 24-28 - Summer Intensive Dance Workshop Explore your dance skills with professional teaching staff from two coasts! Learn dance technique, choreography, stage performance and costuming, followed by a presentation and short performance.  

Affiliate Alliance

The Affiliate Alliance is a unique collaboration that provides a performance home and all kinds of support for performing arts organizations (Resident Affiliates); serves as a vehicle for philanthropic organizations to use professional performances as a means to raise funds and awareness for their mission (Co-Presenting Affiliates), and a helping hand-type program that makes it possible for schools, churches and other small performing arts groups to utilize the venue (Goodwill Affiliate).

 
The Charter Affiliates, each representing the best of the best in their genre, are: Napa Valley Festival del Sole, Justin-SienaNapa Valley Youth SymphonyNapa Regional Dance Company, and Salvador Elementary School.
  • Festival del Sole, now in its 8th season (scheduled for July 12-21), is a renowned music and lifestyle festival that blends world-class artistry, gourmet cuisine, fine wines and camaraderie amidst the splendor of the Napa Valley.  Not only is the Napa Valley Festival del Sole the first Resident Affiliate, they are literally residents, now headquartered in Lincoln Theater.  And, through its Foundation will partner with Napa Valley Performing Arts Center on a music-education program.
  • Justin-Siena’s award-winning theater program, whose professional-quality musical theater productions of Broadway hits have performed to sold out crowds at Lincoln Theater, will call Napa Valley Performing Arts Center their rehearsal and performance home for and their marquee productions.  Plans also call for Justin-Siena to be an integral part of the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater’s education initiative.  The affiliation begins on March 1 with the two-weekend run Justin-Siena’s production of the exciting musical ”Footloose.”
  • Napa Valley Youth Symphony is an award-winning youth orchestra, providing the highest level of musical training to young musicians and offering them the opportunity to enrich their community by performing seasonal, full-length concerts. In addition to its youth orchestra program, Napa Valley Youth Symphony also trains entry-level student musicians through string and wind ensembles, and provides educational programs to local schools and organizations.
  • Napa Regional Dance Company,  founded in 1988, provides excellent dance training and education, while promoting dance as an art form.  NRDC offers a year-round curriculum for girls and boys in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz and choreography as well as three performance opportunities.  The annual acclaimed Christmas holiday production of The Nutcracker, a full-length ballet of Alice in Wonderland in the spring, and a year-end student showcase, presenting a repertoire of classical and contemporary dance works.  NRDC will be a key component to Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater’s dance education initiative
  • Salvador Elementary School, is an Artful Learning school, a model based on Leonard Bernstein’s belief that the process of experiencing the arts provides a fundamental way to instill a lifelong love of learning in children. Arts integration is instruction that integrates content and skills from the arts - dance, music, theatre and the visual arts - with other core subjects.  Arts integration is highly effective in engaging and motivating students. It supports academic achievement and improved social behavior of students while enhancing school climate and parental involvement
