Where education and community are as important as entertainment...

Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater is all about community collaboration, meaningful performing arts education and first-class local, national and international entertainment.

Community collaboration starts with Napa Valley Performing Arts Center’s Affiliate Alliance. The Affiliate Alliance is a unique collaboration that provides a performance home and all manner of support for performing arts organizations; serves as a vehicle for philanthropic organizations to use professional performances as a means to raise funds and awareness for their mission, and a helping hand-type program that makes it possible for schools, churches and other small performing arts groups to utilize the venue.  Affiliates include: Napa Valley Festival del Sole, Justin-Siena, Salvador Elementary, Napa Regional Dance Company, Napa Valley Youth Symphony and Pacific Union College.

Napa Valley Performing Arts Center’s education initiatives are a diversified, comprehensive mixture of programs and projects that are in partnership and collaboration with Symphony Napa Valley, our affiliates, experts in their fields, guest performers and the community.  They include year-long performance and professional development fellowships, year-round creative arts programs, guest-artist seminars, music and education festivals, and multi-faceted afterschool and summer workshops in all performing arts disciplines; for all levels of artistic development from beginner to professional, and taught by local, national and international experts in their fields.

Napa Valley Performing Arts Center’s signature program, inspired by “The Academy” (Carnegie Hall/Julliard/Weill Institute), is the Orchestra Institute Napa Valley-Fellowship, which starts in August.  This innovative, year-round performance and professional-development program for exceptional post-graduate musicians is designed for the mutual benefit of the Fellows, Napa Valley Performing Arts Center’s Affiliates, Symphony Napa Valley, music students for all ages and the community at large.

Other key components of the education initiative are the summer workshops which begin this July with Orchestra Institute Napa Valley’s annual orchestra performance and professional development festival, Napa Valley Writing Project’s writing and illustration classes, and workshops in theater, dance and film.
